Day 16 – Going to Cedar River Michigan

Menominee has been a great stop. We got to know our neighbors Roger and Ruth at Menominee who invited us to a happy hour on their boat. There we met two more sailing couples, Dave and Marilyn, Murray and Patty. Friendliest port yet. Even invited use along for patty melts at Pirates Cove. Definitely one of my favorite marinas.

So today we move on to the combination State Park / Marina at Cedar River Michigan. Shallow entry to the Marina, stay inside the markers. We are going to chill there for one or two days before crossing over to Washington Island.

Looks like the crossing of Lake Michigan to Leland Michigan will be Monday or Tuesday. Looking like higher winds and waves, nothing that we can’t handle, but definitely a continuing adventure. The National Weather Service usually errs to the side of over estimating. We shall see.

For today we will focus on getting to Cedar River. Of course the wind is on our nose. Par for the course.
