Day 22 – Heading into the Straits of Mackinac
We spent a great day in Petoskey. Fixed some stuff, walked through town and had a nice meal (and suds) at Tap 30.
Now it is time to move on. Heading for St. Ignace. This entails heading up to an area of many shoals. Most of them are deep enough for our 4 1/2 foot draw. We will just have to pay attention.
First it needs to stop raining. I think it will. Here is what it looks like now, plus our course, roughly.
Our children Seamus and Anne Marie will be joining us Sunday. They are flying into Detroit and driving to Mackinaw City where we will be waiting.
First it has to stop raining!

July 15, 2023Sounds good, way up north dere. Here it needs to stop raining, and tornado warninging. That tall clock . . . Nobody wants to miss Happy Hour ? Hope A.M + Se. are ready for the culture shock of, “the Naughty Mermaid and the Cabin Boy 2023”. js P.S: TO STEVE ONLY ! ! PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTAL ! ! Blasting a shot across a bow has long been considered a warning for bad manners, such as ignorance of right-of-way to a boat under sail. Steve, it was ALL stolen from the Indians. ALL of it. From sea to shining sea.

July 15, 2023Shot across the bow. That’s what I should have done.
