Day 30 – Best day yet!

We started the day thumbing our nose at the 11:00 checkout time and having pancakes and bacon. Best part we had a ton of bacon. We finally left St. Ignace at 12:30. We motored under the Mackinac Bridge to give the kids the experience. Then we came about and started sailing. The winds were moderate and we were enjoying the sail.

Then a freighter! Coming right up our stern. So motor on and giddy-up. It wasn’t much of a problem and we were sailing again.

The water temperature off of St. Ignace was 64 degrees then I noticed in the Straits water temperature went up to 67 degrees and into the water went Seamus. Then out of the water, quickly. However he went in three more times.
Sails up and several more hours of sailing before heading in port for some great curry chicken.

The sailing conditions were very nice and mellow. Next kids head home and Jeanne and I head back to Petoskey.

We are on our way home.

We are having fun, but there must be a high pressure zone in play. No wind. We did make it through Jim’s favorite area, Greys Reef, twice

Before I read Lolly and Maureen’s comments I thought, “What a great picture of Jeanne!”, followed by, “I love her hair!”. Different strokes for different folks in the yachting world, I guess.
I can’t believe that it’s already time to turn around. Epic

I kind of like my hair that way. It would be hard to replicate it though. It’s a combination of bed head, hat hair, dirty hair and wind blown hair. I have been sporting’ some pretty crazy hair styles on this trip.
