Day 42 – Big Wind and Waves develop

There we were sailing along and the winds and waves picked up again and came out of the wrong direction. After sailing for 3 hours, the wind started blowing “on our nose”. And the waves were big. Peen honin was up to the task and we made it to Manistee around 6:00. However we had to race a big storm that developed in Green Bay. We won and got tied up before it hit.
Manistee has some history. Back 41 years ago on the trip that Jeanne and I got engaged, she fell in the harbor. A much younger Steve reached down and pulled her straight out of the water by her foul weather bibs.
Well this time it was raining again. However, Jeanne didn’t fall in.
