End of day 6
Well we have landed at Cross Point Marina around 3:30. Started out trying to fix our main, ended with our new main being delivered and it fits.
In between we finally had both sails up, making a really good Speed Over Ground of 6.9 knots.
We took down the main sail on the water which was a real challenge but we got it done. Got to the mouth of the Sturgeon Bay Canal and you would never know that it opens up to such a boating Mecca.
We had to go through the Bayview bridge. To get them to open it, you have to hail them on channel 16. Then they wait until the very last moment to open it. Kind of nerve racking. Of course a motor boat came by us really close and really fast.
After going through the canal (see pictures) it opened up and we got to Center Point where a new main sail awaited us. Third attempt was a charm. All good and it fit.
Now it is Miller Time (or Blue Moon)

June 29, 2023Interesting – that as You start sailing, the Adventures get better . . . . . . Bridge tenders are notorious for being drunks, “nerve wracking” fo sho. Be a shame to go that far el norte and not stop in Fish Creek, that bustling megacenter of cheesehead culture. When do the next generation of Pirates board ship ? js
