End of day five
6/27/23 – landed in Kewaunee. Cute little town, population 2800. We asked the Marina Manager how do we get the keys after they close at 4:00. His answer “everything is open”.
We met Carl and Kathy from Spooner Wisconsin 300 miles away that spend the summer here in a camper and they have a fishing boat. There is a Salmon fishery up river where Wisconsin stocks the lake with Salmon. So really good fishing here.
You ask how do we know, well Carl (Packer fan) and Kathy offered to drive us to the grocery store. On the way back we saw the Giraffe and Elephant statues that were made by a local resident, their community garden, the worlds largest Grandfather clock. People are so nice here.
Tomorrow we head for the “cut”, which is the canal to Sturgeon Bay. We will have to get them to open a bridge. New experience. Should be a 5 – 6 hour day,
Winds look light 5-10 out of the south. Maybe we will try the asymmetrical spinnaker. We shall see.
